Archaeological piece of funereal bed unearthed in Palmyra

Palmyra, SANA-Competent authorities unearthed on Wednesday a prefect, accurately- sculptured archaeological piece which represents a large funereal bed with nearly 1000 kg weight.

Deash terrorists have looted the archaeological piece from one of the ancient cemeteries of Palmyra before their defeat.They have tried to smuggle it to outside the country.

Secretary of Homs Museum, lubabah Ali, told SANA that the important piece represents a funereal bed of the white limestone, ornamented with marvelous engravings with a picture of a man wears Palmyra uniform.

She added that the bed which reaches 2 meters in length and 1 meter of height, dates back to the era of Palmyra’s prosperity in the 2nd and 3rd centuries AD.
