Belarusian Embassy in Damascus holds reception marking Belarus National Day

Damascus, SANA- The Belarusian Embassy in Damascus on Wednesday evening held a reception ceremony on occasion of Belarus National Day at the Damascus-based Dama Rose Hotel.

Belarusian Ambassador Yuri Sluka, in a speech during the reception, affirmed that his country considers Syria as a main, significant and effective partner, indicating that the relations between the two countries have been built on the basis of partnership and full confidence and the joint work in different spheres.

Ambassador Sluka added that his country is open to the dialogue for achieving more cooperation, expressing firm confidence that the Syrian people will remain steadfast in the face of terrorism and they will overcome all obstacles.

Assistant Foreign and Expatriates Minister Dr. Ayman Sousan, for his part, asserted that the friendly relations binding the two countries gain the interest of the two countries’ leaderships.

Sousan expressed high appreciation for the stances of Belarus in support of Syria in the face of the terrorist aggression and the unjust economic siege.

He shed light on the initiative by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko which is represented in hosting a number of Syrian martyrs’ sons and children who have been victims of Takfiri terrorism in entertainments camps in Belarus in expression of his appreciation for the sanctity of martyrdom.

The Assistant Foreign and Expatriates Minister referred to the rapidly developing relations between the two countries in different domains, adding that Syria welcomes the participation of the Belarusian companies in the reconstruction process.

Sousan said that the Belarusian continued participation in Damascus International Fair represents one of the forms of supporting Syria in the face of the economic siege and boycott and the pressures exerted by the Western occupational forces on it.
