Nazarbayev: Kazakhstan ready to host meeting of Astana process guarantor states’ presidents

Astana, SANA – Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev on Wednesday announced that his country is ready to host the meeting of the presidents of the guarantor states of Astana process (Russia, Iran, and Turkey) on the settlement of the crisis in Syria.

During a meeting with the diplomatic corps in the Kazakh capital of Astana, Nazarbayev said “It is now important to continue to work on solving the crisis in Syria within the framework of the Geneva and Astana formats.”

He affirmed that his country supports the continuation of Astana format.

On Monday, Kazakh Foreign Minister Kairat Abdrakhmanov announced that a new round of talks on Syria will be held on Nov. 28-29 in Astana.
