Syrian student ranked 3rd at UCMAS Competition

Lattakia, SANA- The 7-year-old student Hassan Abdullatif was ranked third at the UCMAS International Competition.

The Competition was held in Malaysia on July 22 with the participation of 25 countries.

Mental arithmetic teacher, Hussein Hamdan, told SANA that Abdullatif was chosen of the five children participating in the competition for his ability to perform calculations quickly and accurately.

Hamdan said that this achievement assured the world that Syria will remain a country that has the potential to compete in all fields.

The Universal Concept of Mental Arithmetic System (UCMAS) is a modern representation of an ancient art of mental arithmetic that has been adapted into programs to help stimulate children’s brain activity.
