Lattakia, SANA- Firefighting teams from the Syrian Civil Defense and the Agricultural Fire Brigade extinguished forest fires that broke out in Lattakia countryside, after continuous working hours exceeding 24 hours.
Civil Defense noted via its Telegram channel that fires broke out in the forests of al-Qateelbiya, Ain al-Qantara, and Khan Al-Joz, and teams continue to monitor the fire sites and conduct cooling operations to prevent re-ignition.
Civil Defense noted that firefighting teams faced significant difficulties in controlling the blazes, which lasted for hours in areas with difficult terrain, hindering fire engines from reaching the fire spots, with high temperatures and wind speeds.
