Syria, Jordan discuss boosting cooperation in telecommunications sector

Damascus, SANA- Minister of Communication and Information Technology ,Abdul Salam Haykal ,discussed with a delegation of Jordanian businessmen, headed by Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce, Khalil Mohammad al-Haj Tawfiq, ways to enhance joint cooperation.

During the meeting, Haykal said that the ministry is working to provide the best services to Syrian citizens at competitive prices and encourages investment in the telecommunications, information technology, and postal sectors, which contributes to improving services and achieving distinguished services.

He noted the progress achieved by Jordanian companies operating in the telecommunications and information technology sector, pointing out the significant strides they have made in developing and supporting many countries in the region.

For his part, the head of the Jordanian delegation reviewed his country’s successful experience in providing technical services through specialized programs and operating systems for all government agencies, highlighting the most important opportunities for joint cooperation, particularly in rehabilitating and restoring infrastructure, the internet, and digital technology.
