Ministry of Health Launches Multi-Sector National Health Promotion Strategy

Damascus, (SANA)-Syrian Ministry of Health on Monday will launch the Multi-Sector National Health Promotion Strategy.

Minister of Health Rida Said said that the strategy aims at providing a sustainable infrastructure for promoting healthcare and establishing alliances with various sectors.

Minister Said indicated that the main goal of the strategy is to reduce the rate of deaths and sickness, underlining the importance of media's role in implementing this strategy.

The work mechanisms of the strategy include seven basic axes based on providing information and data bases to determine the priorities of implementing and taking decisions in addition to working on developing the national capabilities.

The strategy also focuses on promoting the comprehensive response of different sectors through upgrading the legislations and laws related to enhancing health.

The strategy will be launched with the participation of 17 Ministries, the World Health Organization (WHO) and five international organizations in addition to some of the NGOs.
