Damascus, (SANA)- Syrian Haemophilia Society signed on Sunday with the Japanese Embassy in Damascus a grant contract of USD 96, 113 to finance a project for improvement of medical equipment.
The Japanese grant extended to the Syrian Haemophilia Society aims to establish a specialized clinic in blood diseases where all kinds of blood analysis are undertaken to test several blood diseases including haemophilia.
Based on the grant, the Syrian Haemophilia Society will purchase the following equipment: PCR equipment, blood cells functions test equipment, insulate cover, sedimentation tube, RNA, DNA density meter, warming panel, blood gelatin test equipment, blood dry incubator, cool sedimentation equipment, suction tube 5-10-50-100 micrometer and minus 20 grade freezer.
The Japanese Ambassador Masaki Kuneida said the grant reflects the friendship and special relations between Syria and Japan. The grant came within the framework of Japan's Grassroots Assistance Scheme in Syria.
Since its start in 1996, the Scheme has funded 75 projects with a total cost of USD 3, 979, 538.
