Damascus, (SANA) – Silk Festival Road Organizing Committee has completed all necessary preparations for the 9th edition of Silk Road Festival scheduled to be held between September 26 and October 2, 2010.

Director of Tourism Development and Marketing Administration at Tourism Ministry said "the cultural, artistic, tourist and folkloric activities are set up and distributed among provinces spread along the road stopping at important tourist and archeological sites."

The festival will include traditional industries and plastic arts exhibitions, tourism tours in the Old City of Damascus, Aleppo, Ebla, Lattakia and Krak des Chevaliers, he added.

He pointed out that the ministry has invited journalists from different countries on which Syria depends in its promotion campaigns to get acquainted with the traditions of cities on the Silk Road.

Silk Road Festival, first launched in 2002, is an important factor in media promotion and tourism marketing campaigns.
