Damascus, (SANA) – Minister of Tourism Saadalla Agha al-Qalaa discussed on Wednesday with a delegation representing the German' TELKA' Investment Group means for cooperation in the fields of tourist investment, promotion and exchange.

Minister Agha al-Qalaa underlined the attention given to tourism by Syria through giving facilitations to tourist investments and creating a suitable investment environment.

He pointed out to the achievements in this regard during 2009 and the beginning of 2010, adding that the indicators of tourism growth reflected positively on Syria's ranking in the World Tourism Organization list, as Syria today is considered a tourist destination with diversity and consistency in terms of tourist products.

Agha al-Qalaa also referred to the efforts exerted by his Ministry to provide facilitations to investors and studies on tourist investment locations, in addition to the Ministry's participation in developing the infrastructure, services and tourist projects.

In turn, Head of TEKLA Group Ulrich Merz expressed the readiness of German companies to establish tourist investments in Syria in light of the country's advancement in tourism and the increasing numbers of European tourists visiting Syria.
