Kuwait, (SANA) – The Syrian team al-Karam lost the chance to win the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Cup final after losing against the Kuwaiti team al-Kuwait 2-1 at al-Kuwait National Stadium.

The first goal was scored by al-Kuwait player Hussain Hakel al-Shumari at 15 minutes, followed by the equalizer scored by al-Karama player Ala'a al-Shibli. However, al-Kuwait player Ismail al-Ajami scored a goal during the extra time of the second half.

The Syrian al-Jaish (Army) team won the AFC Cup in 2004, after defeating the Syrian al-Wahda team 3-2 during the first leg and 1-0 during the second leg.
