200-Kilo Shark Displayed in Shop in Aleppo

Jan 26, 2010

Aleppo, Northern Syria (SANA) – A seafood shop in Aleppo displayed a shark weighing 200 kilos, causing spectators to gather and take their photos with it.

Shop owner Ahmad Nasser Tashawi said the shark was caught by a fisher in the deep areas near the coast of Lattakia using a fishing reel known as a shark hook, pointing out that sharks come closer to the shore during this time of year to mate, while remaining in deeper areas of the sea for the rest of the year.
