Damascus, (SANA)- The Seminar on 'Role of Environmental Media in Fighting Pollution Dangers' stressed responsibility of mass media in raising environmental awareness, calling for specialized information programs in this regard.
The seminar, organized by the Ministry of Information with cooperation of Association of Environment Friends, called for a more active coordination among environmental societies and benefiting from relevant international organizations to carry out official and public programs.
The participants also demanded an active role of the Environment Committee at the People's Assembly (Parliament) through enacting laws that help solve the problem of environment pollution as well as organizing forums and delivering lectures in the mostly vulnerable residential neighborhoods.
