Tartous, Syrian Coast (SANA) – The 2nd Phoenix Theater Festival, organized by Phoenix Troupe in cooperation with Tartous City Council, was concluded on Saturday.

The event, held at the waterfront promenade in Tartous, saw the participation of local and Arab troupes which performed 12 plays and 5 comedic varieties shows.

Among the plays was "Kingdom of the Dead" by Phoenix Troupe which dealt with youth issues and "Sound" by the Folk Arts Institute troupe from Iraq.

Festival Director Fuad Moanna called for making the festival an annual event to bolster theatrical activities in Tartous governorate and discover new talents, noting that the festival administration will work to expand it in the future.
