Spain and the Arab World Exhibition Opens Mar 03, 2010 Damascus, (SANA)- Spain and the Arab World.. A Century of Political Relations Photos Exhibition opened in Khan Asaad Basha in Damascus. The exhibition includes archive photographic documents by the Spanish News Agency EFE which arranged according to a timeline coping with the historical path of modern Spain starting from Republic of Spain up to the democratic era. On the sidelines of the exhibition, Spanish Ambassador Juan Serrat said that the events reflects deep-rooted relations between Spain and the Arab world not only in the past but also in the contemporary political life and the continued cooperation between Syria and Spain. Syrian Minister of Expatriates Joseph Suwaid described the exhibition as an important initiative which wrote the history of the Arab presence in Spain, and documented the Arab-Spanish relations by photos. Meanwhile, General Director of the Arab House and International Institute for the Arab and Islamic Worlds Studies said that the Syrian-Spanish diplomacy contributes to building economic and political relations that were extended for a century. The exhibition is accompanied by introducing two books /The Arabs in Latin America.. A Story of Immigration/ and /The Arab Contributions in the Identities inside Latin America/. The two books showed the effect of the Arab immigrants in the political, economic, cultural and art life in Latin America. H.Zain/ Idelbi
