Damascus, (SANA)- An exhibition showing Syrian-American cooperation in the field of archeological excavation opened on Tuesday at the hall of the National Museum in Damascus.
The week-long exhibition showcases 33 pictures whose main subject is the work of the Syrian and American archeologists who conducted excavation works at the site of Hurrian capital of Urkesh found at Tell Mozan, northeastern Syria.
The cooperation has helped in uncovering part of the Hurri civilization which goes back to the third and second millenniums BC.

The exhibited photos displayed the most important monuments discovered at the site including the famous palace which comprises statues depicting animal models and the huge fence, considered Syria's gate from the northeastern side.
A host of drawings representing the Urkesh art and the ancient daily life of the Hurrians and photos of the seals known at that time were also among the exhibits.
Along with the photos, a music piece was also played as part of the exhibition representing a song in the Hurrian language written in the city of Ugarit.
