Syria Heads an Arab Meeting to Discuss Telecommunications

Cairo, (SANA)- The 17th meeting for crystallizing an Arab strategy for telecommunications and information started activities Monday at the Arab League headquarters in Cairo, chaired by the head of Project Management Department at the Syrian Ministry of Communications and Technology.

The 3 day meeting will discuss as a follow-up the outcomes of the Arab Economic and Social Development Summit which was held in Kuwait last January with regard to liberating the sector of telecommunications and information technology in order to enhance competitiveness.

Means of developing the legislative frameworks for telecommunications sector will also be on the table. The meeting agenda also includes discussing the final draft of the work plan for the general Arab strategy for telecommunications and information.
