Jun 04, 2009
DAMASCUS, (SANA)-Representatives of the economic committees at the Arab parliaments and councils on Thursday called for intensifying efforts to achieve the Arab social and economic integration as a basis for development and for making Arab countries capable of merging with the global economy.
Concluding a meeting in Damascus, the Arab economists recommended forming an Arab crisis cell to contain repercussions of the global financial crisis on the Arab money, investments, markets and trade, and adopting financial and currency policies that boost Arab countries' capability for facing the crisis.
Representatives of the Arab parliaments underlined the importance of the oil stable prices in the international market, calling for diversifying income resources and not depending on oil as a main income resource.
