Kuwait, (SANA)-The just-concluded Arab Economic Summit in Kuwait on Tuesday adopted an all-out Work Program for Arab development in all fields.
The Work Program calls for developing Arab agriculture and food policies and coordination to boost up the agrarian development and integrity, enhancing researches in this field and linking them to world research centers.
It also calls for a high-productivity society in which women are empowered to reach a society of prosperity for all the citizens, equipped with modern sciences ad knowledge.
According to the Work Program, the Arab countries are called on to lay the proper ground to attract Arab investments into the industrial development, encourage the private sector to expand in the field of joint industrial projects.
The Work Program said the Arabs have to face up to challenges in the area of waters and enhance water security though providing traditional and untraditional resources, and preserve them as well as making needed research for reducing the costs of desalination and make it more economical.
It also calls for achieving the goals of the Arab Greater Free Trade Zone, and raising the volume of inter-Arab trade through speeding up the process of production integration, increasing the Arab product ability to compete in Arab and world markets.
The Arab leaders called for giving special priority to developing the field of education and investment in building human resources as a basis for the development of Arab societies and sustainable development.
The Work Program also calls for raising the level of health services in the Arab societies through expanding their scope, and giving priority to the manufacturing of Arab medicines as one of the pan-Arab security elements.
It states there is need to provide the needed financing to small and medium-sized businesses and projects, activating the agreements signed among the Arab countries in the field of labor and employment.
