Al-Raqqa, North Eastern Syria (SANA) – Al-Raqqa Governorate has completed a 650-million-Syrian- Pounds ( $1,30 million) infrastructure works and the administrative buildings for Tel Abyad Border crossing gate , according to Director of Tel Abyad Border Center Wayss al-Ali.

"The gate attracted tourist and shipping traffic from Central Turkey and Asia to Syria, Iraq and the Gulf," he said.

Al-Ali indicated that the project included a building for a good shipment administration, another for tourism, a free shop and a truck parking yard.

The income of the Gate in 2009 reached SP 2.48 billion (USD 55.1 million) compared with approximately USD 5 million in 2008.
