Doha, (SANA)- The 30th session of the General Assembly of the Arab Center for the Study of Arid Zones and Dry Lands (ACSAD) has elected Syria as president of its session.
Saudi Arabia was elected Chairman of the Technical Committee, Kuwait as Chairman of the Financial and Administrational Committee and Yemen, as Chairman of the Formulating Committee.
The session approved the Arab Project of the Green Belts and holding the 2nd conference for developing the scientific research in the Arab region on February 2011 under the title "Impacts of the Climate Changes on the Arab Agricultural Sector".
The General Assembly agreed on establishment of ACSAD Award for Agricultural Scientific Research in the Arid Areas.
The 30th session of ACSAD started in Doha on Tuesday in presence of Agriculture Minister Adel Safar and a number of Arab Agriculture Ministers and ACSAD delegation.
