Syrian Egyptian Industrial Cooperation Discussed

DAMASCUS, (SANA)_ Industry Minister, Dr. Fouad Issa al-Jouni, discussed here Sunday with Egyptian Minister of Trade and Industry, Rashid Mohamad Rashid, bilateral industrial cooperation through the creation of partnerships in different sectors, and the achievement of industrial integration.

The talks also focused on industrial products flow opportunities between Syria and Egypt, eliminating obstacles hindering such a flow, exchanging recognition of the issued certificates of origin, identification certificates, reactivating the signed agreements, as well as exchange of information, data, experience, developing human resources of the industrial sector.

Minister al-Jouni underlined the importance of formulating executive programs related to the signed agreements, benefiting from Egypt's experience in industrial modernization program, as to develop the same program executed in Syria.

al-Jouni highlighted the role played by the joint businessmen council in developing joint industrial investments, creating appropriate climate for increasing industrial products exchange.

The Egyptian Minister, for his part, highlighted the ongoing economic reforms in Syria, with its positive impacts on Syria's industrial development, asserting the importance of bolstering bilateral cooperation in fields of free zones, industrial zones, energy, and modernization of industry, supporting national exports, fairs and marketing.

Ghassan Qalaa', Syrian Chambers of Commerce Union Chairman, pointed out that the establishment of a joint bank would contribute to increasing commodities exchange, facilitate their flow and develop investment volume between Syria and Egypt.

Imad Ghriouati, Syrian Chambers of Industry Union Chairman, asserted the need for facilitating commodities exchange, as well as for trade exchange volume increase between both countries.
