Syria … One of Least Affected Countries by Economic Crisis

Mar 10, 2010

Damascus, (SANA) – Belgium's National Bank Governor Guy Quaden said Syria is one of the countries least affected by the economic crisis in the world.

During an extended meeting with Syria's Central Bank Governor Adib Mayaleh and other general-directors on Wednesday, Quaden highlighted the importance of Syria's reform program to improve monetary policy and banking sector.

The meeting is an opportunity to exchange Syrian and Belgian expertise in banking sector, Quaden said.

He hoped that developing relations between Syria, Belgium and the European Union would increase trade exchange volume between both countries.
