Saboteurs Affiliated to Istanbul Council Storm Syrian Embassy in Cairo

CAIRO, SANA_ A group of vandals affiliated to the Council of Istanbul stormed the Syrian Embassy building in Cairo on Friday breaking its doors, fences and contents.

The saboteurs, who are funded by Gulf states known for targeting Syria nowadays, stole some equipment, vehicles and documents from inside the building as the surveillance cameras showed.

This brutal attacks was carried out on the very eyes of the Egyptian police charged with guarding the building who decelerated to take any action to prevent those vandals from entering , vandalizing the building and destroying its contents.

Syrian Ambassador in Cairo Yusuf al-Ahmed has condemned this coward attack.

He held the Egyptian authorities full responsibility for failure in the protection of the embassy building and not taking any punitive action against those persons who are known for the authorities. "It is the same people. We have given a list of names to the authorities, but no measures have been taken," al-Ahmed said.

The Ambassador called on the Egyptian authorities to shoulder its responsibilities according to Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations to protect the security and safety of the Embassy and its staff and to take the necessary measures to pursue those criminals and hold them accountable.

"Syria holds the Egyptian authorities responsible and will demand compensation for material and moral damages resulted from this attack ."Ambassador al-Ahmad said.
