Terrorist Bombings in Damascus Condemned

CAPITALS, SANA_Iraqi President Jalal Talabani strongly condemned the twin terrorist attacks which hit Damascus on Friday, claiming the lives of more than 44 civilians and military members and injuring 166 others.

In a statement published on the Iraqi Presidency's website on Saturday, Talabani said that this terrorist act is a violation of all norms and values, adding that terrorism and violence necessitate cooperation on the national, regional and international levels to besiege the criminal powers.

The Iraqi president offered his heartfelt condolences to the families of the martyrs and wished the injured a speedy recovery.

Egyptian Foreign Minister Mohammad Amr expressed strong condemnation of the twin terrorist bombings in Damascus on Friday which killed a number of civilians.

Amro stressed in a statement his country's firm stance against terrorism, offering condolences to the families of the martyrs and the Syrian people over the painful event.

The Egyptian Foreign Minister underlined the importance of a comprehensive settlement to the crisis in Syria through abiding by the Arab work plan agreed upon by Syria, hoping that the mission of the AL monitors will be facilitated as an initial step towards a comprehensive political settlement to the Syrian crisis.

In Caracas, Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez condemned the twin bombings that rocked Damascus, affirming his country's confidence in the ability of Syria to come out of this crisis thanks to the awareness of its people.

In a statement released by the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry, Chavez said "This attack comes in the framework of inflaming the violence in the country,"

President Chaves, on behalf of the Venezuelan people and his own behalf, offered heartfelt condolences to the families of victims of the terrorist attack.

Cuba also condemned the twin terrorist attacks that caused many military and civilian deaths and wounded several others. 

"Cuba vehemently condemns this barbaric terrorist act which hinders solving the Syrian crisis," Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister, Marcos Rodriguez Costa, said in a statement.

The statement stressed that Cuba rejects all forms of terrorism and reiterates its rejection of all types of the foreign interference in Syria's internal affairs as it emphasizes the peaceful solution through the internal dialogue.

'Jordanian Journalists for Syria' Gathering strongly condemned the terrorist attacks which hit Damascus on Friday, killing 44 and wounding 166 civilians and military members.

In a statement issues on Sunday, the Gathering said that the terrorist bombings which struck in Damascus prove that the conspirators against Syria are working hard to abort any Syrian attempt to get out of the crisis.

''These terrorist attacks carry the hallmarks of the US, the Zionist entity and al-Qaeda,'' the statement added, calling upon the Jordanian people and Arabs to support Syria and condemn this hideous crime against it.

The Jordanian Baath Arab Progressive Party also condemned the terrorist attacks, indicating that the criminal acts perpetrated by the armed terrorist groups in Syria are receiving financial, logistical and media aid from the Western imperialist powers.

The Party said in a statement that targeting Syria is aimed at weakening it, depleting its power and stirring chaos as part of a Zionist-US scheme, considering that the latest escalation in terrorism against Syria came as a result of the failure of the conspirators' goals.

Twin terrorist attacks hit Damascus on Friday, killing more than 44 civilians and military members and injuring 166 others.

The Syrian Community in Federal Russia and the Independent States strongly condemned the twin terrorist attacks that took place in Damascus Friday which claimed the lives of scores of civilian and military martyrs.

In a statement on Sunday, members of the Syrian Community reiterated their support to the reform program led by President Bashar al-Assad and their solidarity with the Homeland in confronting the conspiracy to which it is exposed.    

At the Syrian Embassy in Moscow, an activity was held by the Syrian citizens and a number of Russian organizations. The participants offered condolences to the Syrian Ambassador in Moscow Ryad Haddad for the victims and martyrs of the terrorist bombings.
