Rabat, (SANA) – The Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) on Thursday condemned the criminal call of the Dove World Outreach Centre Church in Florida, the US, for burning copies of the Holy Quran on the 9th anniversary of the events of Sep. 11th.
In a statement released today, ISESCO insisted that the call for burning copies of the Holy Quran requires immediate action to outlaw all acts of defamation of religions and religious sanctities.
The statement called on the UN to issue an international law criminalizing all forms of offence against religions under any circumstances.
ISESCO called on the Muslim community to abide by the noble values of Islam in responding to such provocative, hostile stance, pointing out that the best response would be to help spread Islamic principles, and redress the distorted image and misconceptions about Islam.
Meanwhile, Hezbollah condemned the call, stressing that these steps are humiliating Islam and Muslims and all heavenly religions in the world.
Hezbollah said in a statement issued today that the US administration has to take all procedures to prevent burning the Holy Quran; otherwise, it will be a partner in this crime and shoulder full responsibility.
