French President Nicolas Sarkozy on Wednesday welcomed the joint visit paid by President Bashar al-Assad and the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdul-Aziz Al Saud to Beirut late last month, stressing his country's support of Lebanon.
In a speech during the opening of the France Ambassadors Conference being held in the French capital, Paris, Sarkozy pointed out that France is linked with Syria through dialogue concerning all regional issues, expressing his country's support of Turkey.
He said that it is unacceptable for Lebanon to go back to the violence stage and that security and stability in Lebanon should be sought for.
