Nasrallah: We Accuse Israel of Hariri Assassination, Israel has motive and capacity to carry out operation

Aug 10, 2010

Beirut, (SANA) – We accuse Israel of the assassination of Lebanese former Prime Minister Rafiq al-Hariri because it has the interest, motive and capacity to carry out this kind of operations which took place in Lebanon from 2004 until today targeting leaderships inside and outside Lebanon, Secretary-General of Hezbollah Hassan Nasrallah said.

During a press conference held on Monday, Nasrallah added that Israel is trying to benefit from every opportunity to destroy the Resistance in Lebanon. Israel is accusing the Resistance of destabilizing Lebanon because of its severe and fierce hostility to it.

Hezbollah displays a video of Israeli Agent Confessing Fabricated Scenario against Hezbollah

Nasrallah displayed a video showing an Israeli agent confessing he was trying to fabricate a false story that Hezbollah was planning the assassination of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafiq al-Hariri in Sidon.

Nasrallah: Israel's Failure in triggering sedition in Lebanon drove it to Plan Assassination of Berri

Nasrallah said that when Israel failed in triggering sedition in Lebanon after the assassination of al-Hariri, it planned to assassinate the Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament Nabih Berri, but failed.

Nasrallah added that the confessions of the Israeli agent Mahmoud Rafi that he took part with the Israelis in planting al-Zahrani explosive charge to assassinate Berri, in addition to the technical specifications of the bomb confirm that Israel was behind the botched assassination attempt.

Nasrallah: Aerial Photographs possessed by Resistance from Israeli UAV confirm that Israel was surveying al-Hariri Movement

Nasrallah said the technical teams of the Resistance was able since 1997 to capture the transmission of the Israeli MK drone while taking photos of different places in Lebanon.

He added that because of that, the Resistance was able to foil the Israeli operation in the town of Ansariyeh, southern Lebanon and killed 12 Israeli soldiers.

Nasrallah said that the documents, which the Resistance has, clearly indicate that Israel was monitoring all roads that al-Hariri was traveling by, particularly the roads of Saint George- The American University- Al-Manara- Clemenceau Street that al-Hariri was going through while moving in Beirut in addition to the road to al-Hariri Resort that is a compulsory road.

Nasrallah added that the documents confirm that Israel was very interested in surveying Sidon-Beirut road to the house of al-Hariri brother, Shafiq al-Hariri, with focused images of the house, entrances and the traffic in the area.

The documents showed how the Israeli unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) photographed these sites accurately, focusing on the road junctions, Nasrallah stressed that all the experts believe that the enemy was preparing for an operational action against al- Hariri motorcade.

Nasrallah underlined that all of the areas photographed by the Israeli UAV haven't had any of the Resistance personnel, weapons or training areas, questioning the justification for these Israeli surveillance operations.

Nasrallah: Agents' Confessions confirm Israel was surveying movements of Lebanese Senior Officials including President

Nasrallah revealed that one of the Israeli agents confessed that Israel requested detailed information about the Lebanese President Michel Suleiman and Army Commander General Jean Qahwaji and their residencies, in addition to the needed time to cut the distance from President Suleiman's house and the sea on foot and by car.

He said that Israel also asked the agent to gather information about the movements of the Lebanese Premier Saad al-Hariri and Lebanese Forces' executive committee chief Samir Geagea.

The agent was told to collect information about Geagea's movements in Cedar region and his motorcade in addition to al-Hariri visits to his house. Movements of some Lebanese politicians to the cafes in Jubail region were also requested, Nasrallah said.

Nasrallah said this evidence indicates that Israel was surveying March 14 leaders to carry out assassination attempts because Israel wants the blame to fall on Syria and its allies in Lebanon to complete its project in triggering sedition and destabilization.

Nasrallah wondered why no one from the international investigation committee asked the agent about the side he's working for, then investigate with this side to know the purposes of the Israeli surveillance operations targeting the Lebanese officials.

Nasrallah: Israeli Agent, al-Jid, was present at the post where al-Hariri was assassinated

Nasrallah asserted that the Israeli Agent, Ghassan Jarjous al-Jid, the most dangerous of Israel's executive agents, was present at the field of the crime in the post where former Lebanese Premier Rafiq al-Hariri was assassinated, one day before the assassination.

Nasrallah added that al-Jid admitted during the interrogations after he was arrested that one of the tasks assigned to him by the Israeli enemy was to evacuate members of the Israeli intelligence at the Lebanese shores and land borders and to bring them in , asserting that this agent carried out two operations for the agents' entry and evacuation: the first was in March 2004 in Lebanon Mountain region and the second in December of the same year when he took part in the assassination of Martyr Ghalib Awali through guiding the executive commandos to the post of the assassination and evacuating them from the post after the assassination.
