Resistance is necessary for liberation of occupied Arab territories and achieving just and comprehensive peace based on the resolutions of international legitimacy, Assistant Secretary-General of the Baath Arab Socialist Party Abdullah al-Ahmar said on Friday.

"Resistance is an element of strength for Arabs in the equation of conflict with Israel to resolve the fight in their favor", al-Ahmar said in a speech to the 9th Conference for the Alger
ian National Liberation Front.

He stressed the importance of Arab solidarity in the face of challenges facing Arabs, its role in the liberation of its occupied territories and the restoration of their rights.
 
The Assistant Secretary-General called for coordination among political parties and organizations in the Arab countries and stimulating their activities and mutual cooperation to promote the culture of resistance among Arab masses.

He pointed out the importance of Palestinian national unity to face Israeli aggressive plans which aim at liquidating the Palestinian issue through Judaizing Palestinian territories and holy places.

The conference started its activities on Thursday in the Algerian capital with the participation of delegations from several Arab political parties and organizations.
