Arab Interior Ministers call for distinguishing between terrorism and resistance

Tunis, (SANA) –

Arab Interior Ministers council renewed on Wednesday condemnation and rejection of all forms of terrorism, stressing the necessity of distinguishing between it and the legitimate resistance against occupation.

Concluding its 27th session with the participation of a Syrian delegation headed by Interior Minister Said Sammour, the council stressed its rejection of attributing terrorism to Islam which calls for tolerance and dismisses extremism.

The council adopted plans to implement the Arab strategy on combating terrorism and the illegal use of drugs in addition to implementing the Arab strategy for civil protection (Joint Defense).

On the sidelines of the conference, General Sammour reviewed with Saudi Interior Minister Prince Nayef bin Abdul-Aziz aspects of cooperation between the two ministries and means of development as well as the close relations between the two countries.

Saudi Minister highlighted the historical and fraternal relations between the two countries, pointing out to the importance of the two countries' role in the interests of the Arab nation.

Minister Sammour also met Qatari counterpart Abdullah bin Nasser Al Thani and discussed means of boosting and activating joint cooperation between the two ministries in various fields.

Sammour also discussed with his Kuwaiti counterpart Khaled Jaber Al Subah cooperation relations between the two ministries in security fields, particularly exchanging experiences and information.
