Doha, (SANA)-Syria said on Wednesday that it would contribute to a number of development, medical, logistic and agricultural projects in the Federal Republic of the Comoros.
The remarks came during a conference in support of development and investment in the Comoros held in Qatar.
In a speech delivered before the conference, Deputy Foreign Minister Fayssal Mikdad said "The Syrian government is exerting every possible effort to achieve development in the country, and helping the brotherly countries is a duty in the pan-Arab and humanitarian framework."
"A number of the Comoros' students are studying in Syria," Mikdad added.
"We listened with great attention to the statement of the Comoros' President Ahmed Abdullah Mohamed Sambi who opened the door wide before us to inspect the economic, health and educational situations," he added.
A number of the participating countries, bodies and international organizations have announced they will donate USD 500 millions to support the development program in the Comoros.
