Mar 06, 2010

Manama, (SANA)-Syria takes part in the 37th Arab Labor Conference which kicked off on Saturday in Manama.

Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Diala Haj Aref heads the Syrian delegation to the conference.

Bahrain Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa said that overstepping the consequences of the world financial crisis entails giving care to the Arab job markets.

He stressed that the vigorous participation of Arab labor ministers, representatives of the civil society and a number of Arab and world NGOs in the conference comes as a manifestation of its importance, particularly in light of the current situation of the world economy, and an attempt at confronting the impacts of the world financial crisis.

The conference discusses issues related to the labor sphere, developing human resources to spur investment in the Arab countries, giving impetus to development and enhancing dialogue among social partners.

The one-week conference thrashes out a number of topics related to the Arab employment contract that governs the Arab Labor Organization in the coming decade, which was adopted by the Arab Economic, Social and Development Summit held in Kuwait in 2009.
