Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Andrei Nesterenko on Thursday said his country stresses the necessity of resuming the peace process in the Middle East based on resolutions of the international legitimacy, Madrid Reference, and the Arab Peace Initiative.

During a press conference, Nesterenko stressed that Russia will continue to exert effective efforts to overcome the prolonged period of deadlock in the peace process through its contacts with bilateral and multiple channels, mainly within the international Quartet committee, which will hold a ministerial meeting in Moscow on March 19th.
