President Ahmadinejad: Syrian-Iranian Relations, Fraternal and Full of Trust

Feb 27, 2010

Tehran, (SANA)- President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad of Iran has described the Syrian-Iranian relations as fraternal and full of trust and solidarity, pointing out that the reciprocal visits between the officials of the two countries contribute to bolstering bilateral ties.

In a statement following his official visit to Syria, President Ahmadinejad said "The issue of enhancing wide-ranging relations between Syria and Iran is an abiding item on the two countries' agenda", stressing that the scrapping of the entry visa between Syria and Iran, which will be enforced next week, will pave the way for pushing up level of cooperation between them further.

He pointed out that Syria and Iran and the resistance powers in the region constantly coordinate in facing the Israeli threats against the countries of the region, calling on the Israelis to stop issuing threats and to return the Palestinian people's legitimate rights.

The Iranian President paid a 2-day official visit to Syria last Thursday, where he met President Bashar al-Assad. An agreement on canceling entry visa requirements between the two countries was signed in presence of the two Presidents.
