Syrian Cultural Week in Doha Concludes Activities

Doha, SANA- The Syrian Cultural week in Doha, which was held as part of festivity of Doha, the Capital of Arab Culture for 2010, concluded activities yesterday evening by a distinguished ceremony by the Syrian National Children Symphony Orchestra.

Qatari Minister of Culture Hamad bin Abdelaziz al-Kuwari hailed the Syrian active participation which was characterized by great cultural and intellectual diversity.

At the end of this event, the Syrian National Children Symphony Orchestra, which includes more than thirty Syrian children, performed pieces of the internationally well-known classical music.

The Cultural week included theatrical performances such as Saladin, which was produced in 2009, in addition to visual arts activities, art exhibitions and galleries, book fairs, and artistic performances, in addition to the performance of Canaanite Iliad by the Ornina troupe.
