Damascus, (SANA) – In a speech on occasion of the 61st anniversary of the occupation of Palestine broadcast on Monday, Secretary General of Hezbollah Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah said the Israeli entity which is based on usurpation, massacres, displacement and occupation isn't a legitimate entity and cannot be legitimate in any way.

Nasrallah affirmed that the Israeli entity is the cause of all wars, disasters and crises in the region, forcing the past, current and future generations to bear the repercussions and effects of this tumor festering in the region.

He stressed that the wars that happened in the region were imposed by this entity, and that the actions of the region's governments, peoples, armies and resistance movements were reactions to the occupation of Palestine, which is the source of conflict in the Middle East, with the enemy counting on the Palestinian cause being forgotten and on forcing the Palestinian people to despair and abandon their land and rights.

Nasrallah praised the Palestinian people's resilience after 61 years of international conspiracies and complicity against them, calling on the Arab and Islamic nation and the free people of the world to assume responsibility and support the Palestinian people, stressing that the Arab nation in particular has the responsibility to stand by the Palestinians and support them in every way possible.

The Secretary General warned that the massive Israeli maneuvers which will be performed at the end of the month might be a preparation for a new war against Lebanon, calling on everyone to be prepared for such a possibility despite it being tenuous.

He affirmed that the Resistance is ready for this possibility and any Israeli aggression, reassuring the Lebanese people and calling on them to resume their lives normally, because the Resistance is ready to protect them and defend Lebanon, affirming that the Resistance will not abandon its responsibilities.

Nasrallah pointed out that Israel is attempting to intimidate the Lebanese people, and that the Israeli enemy has lost the element of surprise, stressing that the Resistance the popular support for it makes Lebanon strong and forms a deterrent to the Israeli enemy and affirming that "the time of defeats is over, and the time of victories has begun."

The Secretary General noted that Israel in general acknowledges the horrible failure of the Israeli army in achieving its goals in Lebanon, underlining that the Israeli army's defeat in Lebanon in 2000 had serious repercussions on that army that added to Israel's multiple failures in the region.

He stressed that the Israeli maneuvers aim at restoring confidence and the Israeli army's morale, but that they might also be preparations for a new war, which calls for taking precautions and preparing for the worst case scenario.
