PRAGUE, (SANA) _ Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Abdullah Dardari and Czech Deputy Premier Alexandr Vondra on Friday reviewed bilateral relations and ways to upgrade them at all levels and the prospects of completing the signing of European Partnership Association with Syria.
In a statement following the meeting, Vondra expressed Czech full support for the completion of the Syrian-European Partnership, stressing that his country, which will chair the EU by the beginning of next year, will do its best for the completion of the agreement between Syria and the EU.
The meeting was attended by Head of the State Planning Commission Dr. Taissir al-Ridawi and Syrian Ambassador in Prague Nadera Sayyaf.
Earlier, Dardari and Czech Finance Minister Miroslav Kalousek inked a convention on the protection and encouragement of the mutual investment between the two countries.
Dardari said: " The convention and the convention of avoiding double taxation which was signed in Damascus in last May will constitute a solid ground to promote economic cooperation between the two countries."
In turn, Kalousek underlined that the two conventions will constitute an important guarantee for businessmen from both countries to develop their activities and implement large projects of profit and interest to both countries.
He expressed confidence that the joint cooperation would contribute in the development of the economy in the benefit of two friendly peoples, describing the results of the visit as very fruitful in all areas, particularly trade area.
Dardari also reviewed with management of Exports Development Bank areas of financing Czech projects in Syria where the bank management expressed the serious interest in contribution in financing joint economic projects.
For his part, Transport Minister Ya'rob Bader visited headquarters of Aeldes Company for manufacturing radars for air navigation in the city of Pardubice and was briefed on the company industry of radar systems required by Syrian civilian airports to develop its navigational services.
Bader also discussed with Czech Finance Minister the possibility of getting a facilitated loan from the Czech government to import such systems.
The Transport Minister also visited company of manufacturing heads of locomotives of railways and discussed the possibility of supplying locomotives to Syria.
Al-Ridawi, during a visit to the Czech Agency for International Cooperation, reviewed the technical, scientific, cultural and financial cooperation with the Czech Republic.
