Homs, Central Syria, (SANA)- Activities of the 2nd National Forum for Art and Innovation /From Hissyaa to Palmyra/ was launched on Wednesday.
5 Plastic artists specialized in sculpture work on wood, metal and stone to accomplish the largest chair across the world. The Chair represents the Syrian civilizations.
The chair is 15 m high, with an area of 5 square m and weighs 10 tons. The chair embodies the successive civilizations and most prominent ruins in Syria with big focus on the civilization in Palmyra and industrial city of Hissyaa.
The sculpture needs 100 tons of primary materials including 7% of wood and 30% of metal, basalt and marble stone.
The sculpture will be positioned in the Open Air Museum as to enable the tourists to get acquainted with our civilization. Hissyaa industrial city had witnessed the 1st Forum last year, where 20 sculptures were made.
