Damascus, (SANA) – Director-General of the Arab Center for the Studies of Arid Zones and Dry Lands (ACSAD) Rafiq Ali Saleh on Wednesday reviewed with UN delegation for global food security headed by Oliver de Shutter the efforts exerted by the Arab center to combat draught and increase plant and animal production in addition to finding means for adaptation to climate change.
Saleh stressed the importance of exchanging information and expertise in a way that could help benefit from the latest technologies to increase the agricultural and animal production.
He pointed out that the Center has signed a number of agreements with Arab, regional and international organizations.
For his part, de Shutter hailed the efforts exerted by ACSAD through its plans and programs implemented in cooperation with Arab and international organizations to apply the latest technologies to reduce environmental and agricultural degradation.
