Al-Baath Party Pan-Arab Leadership: Palestine Cause Was and Will Remain the Arabs' Primary Cause

May 15, 2010

Damascus, (SANA) – The Pan-Arab Leadership of al-Baath Arab Socialist Party affirmed on Friday that the Palestinian cause was and will remain the Arabs' primary cause, stressing the need for exploiting all the Arab nation's resources to confront Israel and restore the Arab lands and rights.

In a statement on the anniversary of the 15 May 1948 Catastrophe (Al-Nakba), the Pan-Arab Leadership said we can only confront the occupation targeting the entire Arab nation through common Arab national struggle.

The statement affirmed the need to bolster Arab solidarity and mobilize Arab resources to face up to the challenges targeting the Arab nation.

It pointed out that Israel has not only committed crimes in 1948 in Palestine, but also occupied the remaining parts of Palestine, in addition to occupying other parts of Syrian, Lebanese, Egyptian and and Jordanian territories.

"Israel still commits shameful crimes and acts of terrorism," the statement sadi, adding that the passing of 62 years since the Catastrophe doesn't mean that the Palestinians and the Arabs have forgotten Palestine and their rights in it, but rather the opposite as the Palestinian resistance in particular and the Arab resistance in general against Israel is going on and growing stronger.

It concluded by stating that the Arab-Israeli conflict has entered a new stage that exposed Israel's fragility, weakness, and structural and strategic flaws because this entity was founded on a land that doesn't belong to it.
