Damascus, SANA_ Egyptian Minister of Trade and Industry Rashid Mohammad Rashid has underlined the necessity of bolstering Syrian-Egyptian cooperation in the fields of economy, commerce and investment in the interest of both brotherly countries.

In a statement upon arrival in Damascus on Saturday evening, Rashid called on the Egyptian businessmen to expand their commercial and investment activities in Syria.

He said he will participate in the Syrian-Egyptian Businessmen Forum scheduled to be held on Monday and hold talks on means of enhancing bilateral cooperation in different fields.

For her part, Minister of Economy and Trade Lamia Assi hoped that this visit will contribute in increasing rates of commercial exchange between the two brotherly countries through following up the implementation of the signed agreements, stressing the necessity of activating businessmen's role for strengthening the economic relations through launching joint investment ventures.

The forum will discuss the current commercial, economic and investment cooperation, means of overcoming obstacles and mechanisms and ways of briefing investors and businessmen on the investment and commercial opportunities in both countries.
