Syria's Children Say No to Smoking

Mar 13, 2010

Damascus, (SANA) – Head of al-Baath Vanguards Organization Ezzat Arabi Katbi said on Saturday that the Organization intends to launch an anti-smoking campaign to coincide with the implementation of legislative decree number 62 on banning smoking in public places on April 21.

Arabi Katbi said the preliminary slogan for this initiative is "Syria's Children Cry Out: No to Smoking" and that it will include a road running race in Damascus. The campaign will be carried out in cooperation with various general and private sector organizations.

The campaign will also coincide with the Organization's 34th Regional Festival, which will take place on April 26, which will feature an exhibition of cloth banners on which children from across Syria will sign their names and write anti-smoking slogans.
