Israel Policy Aborts Peace Initiatives

Mar 11, 2010

Damascus, (SANA)- Central Leadership of the National Progressive Front (NPF) said Israel's decision to build new settlement units in Jerusalem and the West Bank proves its policy intended to abort initiatives for Mideast peace.

During its meeting on Thursday, headed by NPF Deputy Chairman Suleiman al-Qaddah, the Leadership said the Israeli policies prove Syria's correct stance on the need for new guarantees to make such initiatives applicable.

Participants at the meeting called for a unified Arab stance to confront Israel's aggressive and expansionist policies in the region.

They hoped the upcoming Arab Summit scheduled in Libya would be an opportunity to reach such a stance.

The meeting started with a political report by Vice-President Farouk al-Shara on the latest developments in the regional and international arenas.
