Communications Establishment Signs Memos of Understanding

Damascus, (SANA)-The Telecommunications General Establishment signed a number of memos of understanding with a number of communications servers in Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Turkey, UAE in the framework of the regional communications to benefit from Syria's geographic position as a passageway for the international regional communications.

In a statement to SANA, Director-General of the Establishment Nazem Bahsas said that agreements were signed with the Saudi Telecommunications Com. STC, the Jordanian Telecommunications Co. and the Turkish Turk Telekom.

He said the project is of strategic importance for Syria by finding an alternative route for transferring communications across the Mediterranean and providing revenues for the Establishment.
