First Ministerial Meeting of Syrian-Turkish Strategic Cooperation Council Kicks off in Aleppo

Aleppo, (SANA) – Aleppo is hosting on Tuesday the activities of the first ministerial meeting of the Syrian-Turkish strategic cooperation council which was announced during President Bashar al-Assad's visit to Istanbul in September.

Ministers concerned will discuss aspects of cooperation between Syria and Turkey and agreements, memos of understanding, and cooperation protocols which are due to be signed during the Syrian-Turkish Strategic Cooperation Higher Council headed by premiers of the two countries in November.

At the end of the meeting, Foreign Minister Walid al-Moallem and his Turkish counterpart Ahmet Davutoglo will hold a press conference and will officially sign the agreement on dropping the visa requirements at the Syrian-Turkish border point (Alsalama), and the participant ministers will cross the borders to the Turkish city of Gaziantep to complete the meeting and hold bilateral talks on memos of understanding and joint cooperation protocols.
