Palestinians will not Abandon their land, resistance, right to return, Jerusalem nor al-Aqsa Mosque. Mashal Says

Oct 12, 2009

Damascus, (SANA)- The equation governing the conflict with the Israeli occupation is clear, the continuation of the occupation means the continuation of resistance, Head of Hamas Politburo Khaled Mashal said.

In a speech delivered during a dinner banquet held Sunday on honor of the participants in International Golan Forum in Damascus, Mashal added that whether it takes a long or short time and even if the international community disappointed us or not, the Palestinian will continue their commitment to their rights and land and the resistance will remain their only option.

"The Palestinians will not abandon their lands, resistance, right to return, Jerusalem nor al-Aqsa Mosque. They will not accept the occupation or settlements," he said

Hamas leader called on the Arab and Islamic nations and all the Palestinian parties to reconsider the strategy adopted towards the Israeli occupation and to stress that resistance is the Palestinian people's strategic option to liberate their occupied land and restore their rights and that the Israeli occupation is illegal and Palestine is an occupied land and should be returned to the Palestinians.

He criticized the western double standards policy and the weakness of the international community regarding the Israeli occupation which considers itself above all international laws.

He condemned the Palestinian Authority to delay vote on Goldstone report, describing that as a crime against the Palestinian people because this report is the first one, which was issued by an international body to condemn and embarrass Israel.

He stressed Hamas commitment to national reconciliation, hailing the Arab role, particularly Syria's role, in achieving the Palestinian rank's unity. He pointed out that Israel responds to the peace calls by expanding settlements, Judizing Jerusalem, targeting al-Aqsa Mosque and the Islamic and Christian holy places.

Mashal concluded his speech by saying that the issue of occupied Syrian Golan is completely connected with the Palestinian issue and all the Arab occupied lands, asserting the return of the occupied Golan to the motherland, Syria.
