Damascus,(SANA)-President Bashar al-Assad received on Monday a cable of thanks from U.S President Barack Obama in reply to the congratulatory cable which was sent by President al-Assad on the occasion of 233rd anniversary of U.S independence.

In his cable President Obama said "The American people and I appreciate the wise congratulatory cable which you sent on the occasion of 233rd anniversary of U.S independence."

"While U.S celebrates its independence on July 4th ,the Americans remember and celebrate their history and the ideas on which our nation was founded." he said.

He added "All of these ideals in every part of them still exist today as they were before two centuries, and we hope that all the nations of the world will enjoy one day the blessing of freedom and peace."
