Syrian, Yemeni Ministers Discuss Agreements to Be Signed during Joint Higher Committee Meetings

Damascus, (SANA) – Minister of Economy and Trade Dr. Amer Husni Lutfi discussed on Saturday with Yemeni Minister of Industry and Trade Dr. Yehea al-Mutawakel means for increasing Syrian exports to Yemen and the possibility of holding an exhibition for Yemeni products in Syria similar to the exhibition for Syrian products currently being held in Yemen.

The two sides reviewed the agreements that will be signed during the upcoming meetings of the Syrian-Yemeni Joint Higher Committee which will be held in Damascus, underlining the need to hold meetings among businessmen from both countries on the sideline of the Damascus International Fair, which will kick off in July.

For his part, Minister of Transport Dr. Yarub Badr discussed with his Yemeni counterpart Khaled al-Wazir the articles of the memo of understanding for cooperation the field of roads and bridges which will be signed on Sunday, in addition to the memo of understanding for Yemen joining the Syrian-Jordanian Marine Navigation Company.

In turn, Minister of Expatriates Dr. Joseph Suwaid discussed with his Yemeni counterpart Ahmad Musaaed Hussein the articles of the memo of understanding for expatriates affairs.

Minister of Communications and Technology Dr. Imad Sabouni discussed with Yemeni Minister of Communications and Information Technology Kamal Hussein al-Jabri the executive program for cooperation in the field of communications and information services, in addition to the possibility of participating in conferences, forming joint technical committees, exchanging expertise, and exporting international calls using internet protocols, among other issues.

For his part, Minister of Health Dr. Rida Saeed discussed with Yemeni Minister of Public Health and Population Dr. Abdel-Karim Yehea Rasi' the suggested articles for the health cooperation protocol for 2009-2011 which will be signed on Sunday.
