Damascus, (SANA)- Meeting of Higher Education Minister Ghiath Barakat with delegation of the German-Arab Friendship Society (DAFG) headed by its President Dr. Otto Wiesheu on Tuesday focused on prospects of the bilateral cooperation and means of encouraging the scientific and academic cooperation among educational institutions in both countries.

Means that encourage holding workshops and joint scientific symposiums on the needs and requirements of the educational and research institutions in Syria, particularly in the field of renewable energies were also discussed during the meeting.

Both sides also reviewed the importance of scientific and social communication between students and professors in both countries and accepting additional numbers of Syrian students in German universities.
