DAMASCUS, (SANA)-Chairman of the German-Syrian Friendship Society Otto Wiesheu said Monday the German people are interested in getting acquainted with the region glorious cultures dating back to 3 or 4 centuries.

"You have glorious cultures which we don't in Europe... you also own a philosophy dating back to 3 centuries that are rooted in the mentality of the European people.. and we have common traditions, based in its context on the Islamic and Christian religions," Wiesheu said in a statement to SANA following a visit to a plastic art show for the Artist Yaser Hammoud at the Hall of Art House in Damascus.

"This show is a pattern of the modern art that presents pictures in an exciting manner," he added.
